Welcome!

Hey ya'll!

Staying sober is hard, man.

My personal DOC or “drug of choice” is alcohol. I’ve struggled to get my shit together through the years. I’m writing this at 41 days alcohol-free though so, that’s something.

These ads. They’re everywhere. Here have a cocktail with this, here this moment deserves a beer. The norm that has been created is one where family weekend activities are at breweries and a bottle of wine after work is okay. Billboards, TV, Internet, you can’t not see it. And you find me a public social activity where they’re not serving. Can’t we have sober places and activities in these major cities?!

But, I haven’t picked up a bottle no matter how badly I’ve wanted to. Boredom triggers me and I’m definitely understimulated. It used to make the moment more fun to me. A little liquid courage, if you will. Who am I without it? What do I like to do? How does one have fun while sober?

I don’t have the answers but now I have this blog soo come back next time for “Michael’s Mental Meltdown”! …jk jk. But if you’re getting sober and experiencing the reality of it then this is probably for you. I’m also a teen mom with two divorces under my belt so you never know what you’re gonna get. Stay tuned!
